SAFETY TIPS – DETAILS OF CHLORINE LEVEL 

1.  CMWSSB ensures the quality of water by maintaining a minimum residual chlorine level of 0.2mg/l in the water supplied to the  

      consumers. The presence of minimum level of 0.2mg/l residual chlorine will maintain the water quality from possible

      contamination occurring while handling.

2.  However, during monsoon periods and the locations that are considered as vulnerable areas, pollution contaminated

     places, etc.,  the publics so requested to contact the nearest depot engineers. 

     One chlorine tablet treats 20 litres of water that gives residual chlorine level of 1.25mg/l. 

3.   Keep the vessel/ pot-containing drinking water away from insect breeding places.

4.   Cover the vessel/pot containing drinking water from possible outside contamination through flies, mosquitoes etc.,

5.    Boil and drink.

6.     Care should be taken to consume the stored water on the same day and do not store for more than two days.
