ONLINE Collection of Water & Sewerage TAX / CHARGES Through INTERNET

 

        At present, the Board is collecting Water and Sewerage Tax/Water supply, Charges through collection centers of the Board located at 10 Area Offices, 126 Depot Offices and Head Office.

 

      The Board has launched its own website www.chennaimetrowater.tn.nic.in during Hence, the proposed to improve the collection network by other means also the Board has introduces online payment of water tax and water supply charges through Internet.  ICICI Bank has undertaken this assignment on behalf of the Board.  Hence, the Board tied up with ICICI Bank to facilitate on-line payment of water taxes and charges by customers.  This will allow all Metrowater consumers who also have an ICICI Bank account either savings or credit card to log onto Metrowater website www.chennaimetrowater.tn.nic.in ascertain their dues and made payment through a direct link to ICICI Bank’s websitewww.icicibank.com.  Metrowater has also tied up with ICICI Bank for “pay seal’ payment gateway to enable any Master or  Visa Card holder to pay water taxes and charges through Metrowater Website.

 

   The Common Customers shall have to electronically register for this service on the Website maintained by ICICI Bank located at the URL www.icicibank.com, providing such information as required by Chennai Metro Water.  Chennai Metro Water shall provide relevant water and sewerage charges and taxes details, which would be presented online by ICICI Bank in a manner satisfactory to Chennai Metro Water and ICICI Bank, at a later date.  Therefore, the Common Customer can pay any amount on any date through ICICI Bank’s Internet Banking Service.

 

 

    ICICI Bank will credit the payment to Chennai Metro Water current account with ICICI Bank as and when the Common Customers make the payments through online.  ICICI Bank would credit Chennai Metro Water’s account within 2 bank working days from the payment date.

 

  The receipt generated for the payment made would be stored both as a printable file in the Electronic Folder of the Customer and as a print out (Hard Copy). Further the passbooks of the Customers who made payment through Online would be updated at Anna Nagar, Nandanam and Anna Salai Branches.

 

   The water & sewerage tax / charges have been collected by ICICI bank through Internet on-line payment around Rs.37.51 lakhs from  September’03 to August’07.

 

    Apart from the above, the Board has proposed to install E.D.C machines of ICICI Bank to its selective collection Offices of Metrowater Board customer desirous of paying charges through their credit cards (as against cash and cheque payment) at the collection offices may do so through the E,D,Cs installed by ICICI Bank.
